Mamma Mia! sequel films late August
The follow-up feature to 2008’s popular musical film, Mamma Mia! is set to begin filming in late August in the UK and Croatia.
Described as a kind of sequel and a prequel, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! will reunite several of the original cast – including Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Dominic Cooper, Amanda Seyfried, Christine Baranski, Pierce Brosnan, and Colin Firth – with new faces such as Lily James, reportedly set to play the younger version of Streep’s Donna during flashback sequences.
US studio giant Universal is behind the revival which will see Croatia double for the fictional Greek island of Kalokairi in the film; Ol Parker directs from his own screenplay.
