Camila Cabello’s Cinderella to film in UK
A new big-screen iteration of classic fairy tale Cinderella has bedded into pre-production readying for a UK shoot with Camila Cabello attached to star.
The Sony Pictures feature is based on an idea by James Corden; he produces alongside Fulwell 73 colleague Leo Pearlman and Jonathan Kadin.
Filming is due to begin in February with Idina Menzel, Billy Porter and Nicholas Galitzine reportedly among the cast. Kay Cannon directs.
Production Intelligence subscribers can log in for more on the studio base and the key hires on board including the line producer, production designer and DoP.
Fulwell 73 was set up in 2005 by Pearlman, Ben Winston, Ben Turner and Gabe Turner with Corden joining in 2017 as a fifth full partner. The company currently co-produces The Late Late Show with CBS Television Studios.
Cinderella is one of an array of inward investment projects currently boosting the UK’s production spend.
Studio space is at a premium as Disney and Netflix have booked up Pinewood and Shepperton respectively, but new developments and expansions are in the pipeline around the UK over the next couple of years to meet the surge in demand.
