Blankety BlankThames has greenlit two more series of revamped game show Blankety Blank for delivery to BBC One.

Bradley Walsh presents the shiny-floor show, which has enjoyed three series in its new iteration to date.  The third run was watched by audiences of up to 4.1m, often the most-watched show in its time slot.

Each new series will comprise 10 episodes, with six celebs on board to help the contestants. Blankety Blank is a Thames (a Fremantle label) production for BBC One and was commissioned by Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of entertainment.

The executive producer for Thames is Christopher Barbour and the commissioning editor for the BBC is Clodagh O'Donoghue.

Charlie Irwin, managing director of Thames, said: “It’s been a huge privilege to be part of the team in charge of bringing Blankety Blank to new audiences. We are thrilled with how it's been received and are so excited to make more for the BBC. We genuinely love this show and filming it is an absolute joy."

Presenter Walsh added: “I tell you what, there isn’t a show quite like Blankety Blank – it’s absolutely brilliant fun from start to finish. The celebrities will come up to me after a record and tell me how much fun they had filming, but more importantly, so do the contestants. These wonderful people come on to the show wanting a great experience and boy do they get it – because let’s be honest, they’re not there for the prizes are they?!”
