James Norton leads starry cast on period drama King & Conqueror
Filming is underway in Iceland on UK period drama King & Conqueror, starring James Norton and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
Norton’s company Rabbit Track Pictures is producing alongside The Development Partnership, Shepherd Content, RVK Studios and CBS Studios, in association with the BBC. RVK Studios are providing the production services in Iceland.
The series is created and executive produced by Michael Robert Johnson. Also serving as executive producers are Norton and Kitty Kaletsky for Rabbit Track Pictures, Baltasar Kormákur for RVK Studios, Robert Taylor for The Development Partnership, Dave Clarke and Richard Halliwell for Shepherd Content, Ed Clarke, Robert Jones, Coster-Waldau, who is also directing episode five, and Lindsey Martin for CBS Studios. Baltasar Kormákur will direct the first episode as well as overseeing creative for the series.
The eight-part drama is based on the iconic 11th century figures Harold of Wessex (Norton) and William of Normandy (Coster-Waldau). Emily Beecham and Clémence Poésy play their respective wives Edith Swan Neck and Matilda. Further cast includes Eddie Marsan, Juliet Stevenson, Jean-Marc Barr, Luther Ford, Joseph Mawle, Geoff Bell, Elliot Cowan, Bo Bragason, Bjarne Henriksen, Clare Holman and Oliver Mascucci.
