And they call it Puppy Love

A new BBC Four comedy is in the pipeline from Joanna Scanlan and Vicki Pepperdine (Getting On).

Puppy Love is a shiny new series set around the world of dog-training classes in the Wirral. Scanlan plays the inimitable Nana, who runs the lessons, and Pepperdine takes the role of dog-owner Naomi.

The pair are also associate producers on the show, which is a BBC In-House production in association with Woof Productions; it follows a successful pilot last year. Shooting gets underway in West Kirby from early May with director Sue Tully at the helm.

Charming producer Jo Willett told us: "Joanna and Vicki have written five wonderfully comic scripts for this comedy about dogs, love and the love of dogs.  We can't wait to get filming now, and nor can the dog population of West Kirby."

Saurabh Kakkar and David Baddiel executive produce for the BBC and Woof respectively.
