COVID-19 Statement
COVID 19 NOTICE- HONEST FOODS MAY 2020
This document has been created based on the World Health Organisation’s COVID- 19 Food and Safety: Guidance for Food Businesses.
Honest Foods are committed to keeping you and your crew safe, especially during these uncertain times. Honest Foods have taken on the advice of the World Health Organisation (WHO). Alongside our normal strict HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems, we will also be introducing new hygiene and social distancing measures to protect staff and clients, which will influence the way we serve and produce the food. In addition, staff have received extra training on PPE and how to use it.
The WHO has outlined that transmission from food and packaging is highly unlikely, as COVID 19 is a respiratory illness, and transmission is only likely if someone comes into contact with respiratory contact from coughing or sneezing.
‘There is no evidence to date of viruses that cause respiratory illnesses being transmitted via food or food packaging. Coronaviruses cannot multiply in food; they need an animal or human host to multiply.’ (page 1)
Strict cleaning schedules and sanitisation of work surfaces, designated working areas and storage areas where Honest Foods will be working will be adhered to and staff will be monitored constantly by management, and as always through records of processes will be completed.
Any food served will be pre portioned or individually wrapped, until the guidelines are changed. Any food that cannot be made by a member of staff and anything that was once self service will be discussed with production and agreed upon before the shoot.
In line with the current guidelines staff will be expected to report feeling unwell and be required to self-isolate should they themselves for 7 days, should they not have any symptoms they will be allowed to return to work when able to do so. Should anyone from their household contract COVID- 19 symptoms they will be expected to self-isolate for 14 days, and if no symptoms have occurred, they will be allowed to return to work. UK Government Guidelines outlined here will be stringently adhered to, with no exceptions. Honest Foods will expect that anyone on the production will also follow these guidelines and any cases to be reported to our staff for traceability.
All of our suppliers will be asked to supply their own COVID- 19 practices to us prior to resuming trade with them, to ensure that the supply chain of food is adhered to and ensure the safety of our clients and staff. Deliveries will be expected to be dropped off adhering to guidelines, and then put away by a member of staff once complete.
