WCRS bakes up Warburtons campaign

Ad agency WCRS, whose clients include BMW and Sky, have launched a campaign for the baking firm Warburtons. The campaign is spearheaded with three ads, under the strapline “From our family to yours”.

Warburtons claim the campaign is the biggest in the company”s history, with an investment of almost £16m – double that of 2012. The campaign is the first for WCRS, since taking on the client last summer, with RKCR/Y&R previously holding the account.

The new brand idea aims to show the connection between Warburtons – a family-owned business, and families in the UK. In each ad, someone writes to Jonathan Warburton detailing how good one of its products is and what effect it has on their life.

The inspiration comes from Jonathan Warburton, a member of the famous family, who receives a vast amount of mail from the public every week about the bakery”s products.

The three ads were directed by Anton Visser and each focus on a key product – ‘Twins” for Half & Half loaves, ‘Lonewolf” for Soft White Farmhouse loaves and ‘Hughie” for crumpets.
