New British feature film to shoot September
Producer and director Philip Walker has updated us on his latest project, a Calendar Girls-style film with a distinctly British flavour.
Call Me centres on a group of five women, each of whom has been neglected or abused in some way. The women find themselves working at an adult chatline, where they begin to discover their true selves. But, exploited by their evil boss, they soon decide to form their own chatline, a profit-sharing co-operative, and begin recruiting women from all walks of life.
Friendships and confidences build as the women end up taking on their old boss who is hell-bent on putting them out of business.
Call Me is very much the brainchild of writer/producer/director Philip Walker of Maximus Pictures, who has set up Call Me Productions for this project. The original idea came from Walker”s partner, actress Mary Waters, who will also be playing one of the women and who worked at a chatline years ago between acting jobs.
Walker is working alongside veteran industry figure Robert Young (Wild Blue Yonder, Fierce Creatures) who will be overseeing the film.
Walker also produces alongside John Dodds – who will be wearing the line producer”s hat too – and Julia Verdin. Full Metal Jacket cinematographer Douglas Milsome is on board the film; for more HoD details including the production designer and casting director, log into Production Intelligence.
Subscribers should follow the project as we will be returning with more names and dates soon.
