The Last Panthers arrive in the UK

Major new international drama series The Last Panthers began shooting last October, and is now heading to the UK for a four week tranche of filming.

The UK stint begins at 3 Mills Studios on 24 April, with London joining a line-up of key international locations including Montenegro, Belgrade and Marseille. The 6 x 60 crime drama is a co-production from Warp Films and Haut et Court TV and is for delivery to Sky Atlantic and Canal + in France.

The series originated as an idea from renowned French journalist Jerome Pierrat with a screenplay by Jack Thorne. Tahar Rahim, Samantha Morton and John Hurt star in the drama, which delves into the true story of the crime gangs which emerged after the Balkan war. Known as The Panthers, the shadowy alliance of gangsters and ‘banksters’ were involved in major jewel heists, weapons dealing and drug trafficking across Europe.

Peter Carlton produces for the UK side of things with France fielding Caroline Benjo and Jimmy Desmarais.
