Gillian Anderson, Jason Isaacs to film The Salt Path in the UK

Gillian AndersonFilming begins in early June on The Salt Path, starring Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs. Marianne Elliott is at the helm, marking her feature directorial debut. 
 

The screenplay is from Rebecca Lenkiewicz and is based on Raynor Winn’s best-selling memoir, which recounts the true story of husband and wife, Raynor and Moth Winn’s 630-mile trek along the Cornwall, Devon and Dorset coastline. 
 

On learning that Moth is terminally ill, and after being forcibly removed from their home, they make the desperate decision to keep walking in the hope that, in nature, they will find solace and a sense of acceptance. 
 

Elizabeth Karlsen and Stephen Woolley produce for Number 9 Films with Lloyd Levin and Beatriz Levin for Shadowplay Features.

 

The executive producers are Chris Harper and Nick Sidi for Elliott & Harper Productions, Kristin Irving for BBC Film, Norman Merry and Peter Hampden for LipSync Productions and Thorsten Schumacher for Rocket Science. The film was developed with support from BBC Film and financed by BBC Film and Lipsync.  


Hélène Louvart is DoP; costume designer is Matthew Price; Emily Bilverstone is hair and make-up designer and production design is by Christina Moore.
