No, 2013 wasn’t the busiest year for pie making – it was the busiest for productions shot at Manchester’s The Pie Factory. Based at MediaCityUK, the trio of sound stages played host to a range of commercials and TV shows, including Hebburn, Give Out Girls and Peter Kay’s Car Share.

Opened in 2007, The Pie Factory is also home to several ‘on-the-lot’ companies, including casting agencies, production services and crew and kit hire.

The Pie Factory studio manager Dean Sinacola said: “Over the past year, The Pie Factory has continued playing host to numerous dramas and an increased number of commercials. It has been great to see many returning productions back for the second, third and fourth series – with a few new shows and pilots utilising our spaces (many hoping to return in 2014).

“The MediaCityUK business community has rapidly grown over the past year and the increase in companies moving in across the site has played a significant impact on the amount of inquiries and bookings we’ve had – highlighting the integral role The Pie Factory plays at MediaCityUK. We look forward to welcoming more productions this coming year.”
