Wimbledon Studios to double in size

Wimbledon Film & TV Studios has announced that its media village is to expand to twice its current size. The production hub will have a dedicated entrance, and offer an extra 8000 square feet of office space to house at least 25 new companies.
Businesses already housed at the hub include Decode; The Last Word TV; Sue Ryder management, The Big Film Group, The Model Unit and Palm Tree Productions.
The expansion will mean the end of the Sun Hill Police Station set, which was the home of the long running and popular police drama The Bill.
Piers Read MD, Wimbledon Film & TV Studios said: “We”re hugely excited about expanding the media village. Once complete, the complex will be able to house at least 75 media companies all of which will be available to the productions that visit the studios, and of course to the international TV and film community – our aim being to give them everything they need on their production”s doorstep.”
The new media village will be completed by 15 June.
