UK makes showing at Global Production Awards

The UK winners included Location of the Year and City of Film
The UK made a strong showing at last night’s (19 May) Global Production Awards (GPAs), with Belfast winning City of Film and London’s Ravenscourt Park Hospital collecting Location of the Year.
14 competitive awards and one special recognition prize were handed out during the ceremony, held at Mademoiselle Gray Plage Barrière in Cannes.
The event is now in its third year, and is presented by The Knowledge’s sister sites Screen International in association with Screen Global Production and Broadcast.
The awards celebrate outstanding, sustainable work and highlight the best global locations, outstanding studio facilities and creative crews and ideas, reflecting the value they bring to local and international production teams.
The UK winners are:

• Sustainability Initiative – Re-Set Programme (Garden Studios, UK)
• Special Recognition Award – Northern Ireland Screen
• Sustainable Production Award – TV – Awesome Animals And Mini Me (Three Arrows Media, Final Pixel & Sky Kids, UK)
The GPAs are open to organisations and companies working in the film and TV industry, including studios, production companies, film commissions, locations, suppliers, manufacturers and any services involved in film and TV production.
The judging panel, assembled by specialist strategy consultancy and supporting partner Olsberg∙SPI, was drawn from across the industry, and included high‑end TV and film producers, senior production executives and film commission reps.
The Global Production Awards are sponsored by Dallas Film Commission, South Side Studios (Gold Partners), On-Set Location Services, Shinfield Shadowbox Studios, and Brand South Africa (Silver Partners), Dallas Film Commission, Calgary Economic Development and Edmonton Screen (Category Partners), and Olsberg SPI (Supporting Partner).
