Jason Statham begins UK shoot on The Beekeeper 2

The film is directed by Timo Tjahjanto with Statham among the producers
Jason Statham has begun filming The Beekeeper 2 in the UK for Miramax.
Timo Tjahjanto is in the director’s chair, calling the shots from a screenplay by Kurt Wimmer, who also wrote the first feature, that filmed in the UK in the autumn of 2022.
As with the first film, Statham will stars as former government assassin Adam Clay, and will also produce the sequel via his Punch Palace Productions banner, with Chris Long who produces for Longshot Productions, and Wimmer.
As reported on Deadline, the cast include Jeremy Irons, who reprises his role of Wallace Westwyld, and Yara Shahidi, whose role has not been revealed. Miramax is producing and financing with Amazon MGM on board to distribute globally.
In the first film, Clay’s well-intentioned mission to find those responsible for maliciously targeting his landlady in a phishing attack, became a brutal campaign for vengeance. It was directed by David Ayer and grossed around £119.5m worldwide.
Statham has recently made several features in the UK, starting with action thriller Levon’s Trade in spring 2024 (also directed by Ayer); the Jean-François Richet-helmed Mutiny (that also filmed in Malta) in late summer, and an as-yet-untitled thriller from director Ric Roman Waugh about a recluse living on a remote Scottish island.
