An Indian film in the Telegu language was shot in various Isle of Wight locations over the New Year period.

According to local outlet Isle of Wight County Press, The Chief used backdrops including the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Ryde Pier, and Newport town centre.

The feature comes from Rainbow Films and director Ani Sasi; the production team worked with local agency head Dadina Sagger of Island People.

Sagger told County Press: “They loved the Island so much, I have been asked to find 29 locations for early March for another Indian feature film…

“We can provide all they need to shoot films and dramas on the island, which is only two hours away from London. It is very exciting.”

The Chief”s cast includes Nitya Menon, Ritu Varma and Ashok Selvan.
