Nicola Walker, Jemaine Clement film Disney+ comedy in London

The comedy comes from Baby Reindeer producers Clerkenwell Films
Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement are filming Alice and Steve, a new ‘anti-romantic’ comedy from the producers of Baby Reindeer, with production now underway in London.
As first confirmed on Production Intelligence (PI) in February this year, the six-part Disney+ series is from Baby Reindeer producers Clerkenwell Films (a BBC Studios company) and produced by Fran du Pille.
Tom Kingsley directs from scripts by Sophie Goodhart; the exec producers are Goodhart alongside Petra Fried, Andy Baker and Ed Macdonald for Clerkenwell Films and Lee Mason for Disney+.
Alice (Walker) and Steve (Clement) have their lifelong friendship severely tested when middle-aged Steve starts dating Alice’s twenty-six-year-old daughter Izzy, played by Yali Topol Margalith.
Their once rock-solid friendship is turned upside down, threatening their whole worlds. The supporting cast includes Joel Fry, Tyrese Eaton-Dyce, Marcia Warren, Eilidh Fisher and Ebony Aboagye.
Walker said: “I’m thrilled to be stepping into the fabulous world of friendship, motherhood, marriage frantic revenge and fierce love that Sophie Goodhart has created, and to be doing it with Jemaine Clement is completely joyful!”
Clement added: “I really relate to Steve – he’s classy, stylish and an all-round good guy – except for when he isn’t. I’m excited to be working with the wonderful Nicola Walker and seeing how Steve and Alice’s relationship descends into absolute chaos.”
Alice and Steve (w/t) is the latest UK original commission for Disney+, following A Thousand Blows, Flintoff, Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes, Rivals, Extraordinary and In Vogue: The 90s.
