The Split Series 2 starts filming

The Split

A second series of BBC drama The Split has started filming in London, made by production company Sister Pictures.

Abi Morgan has created and written the series that takes place against the backdrop of London’s high-end divorce lawyer circuit.

The story follows sisters Hannah, Nina and Rose, and looks at modern marriage and the long-term impact of relationship breakdowns.

“Sitting on set on the first day of filming I am always reminded what a joy and privilege it is to do what we do - tell stories,” said Morgan.

“Returning for the second series of The Split, the world of high-end law and the stories of love, marriage and divorce in the metropolis ricochet through the lives of Hannah and her sisters. Relationships are challenged, friendships are tested and the lines between work and home blue.”

Paula van der Oest is directing, with Natasha Romaniuk producing.

Last year, Sister Pictures co-produced drama Chernobyl, telling the story of the infamous 1986 nuclear disaster for Sky and HBO. The company is currently developing Amazon drama The Power, set in a world where women suddenly develop the ability to electrocute people at will, and This is Going to Hurt, a BBC drama based on the diaries of former junior doctor Adam Kay.
