UKTV orders second helping of Sliced
UKTV has ordered another series of Sliced for its comedy channel Dave.
From production company Lovely Electricity, the 6 x 40 centres on Joshua, a down-on-his luck pizza delivery driver in south London.
Co-writer Samson Kayo plays Joshua. He said of the recommission: “Last series was just a taster, now it's go time! I'm looking forward to creating some more explosively funny and authentic stories with this amazingly talented team.”
Kayo writes the show – loosely based on his own upbringing in south London - with Phil Bowker. The first series, which comprised just three episodes, reached more than 1.7m viewers.
Peter Thornton, head of scripted for UKTV, said: “Samson and Phil make for a formidable creative duo, the Batman and Robin of the writer/performer/just writer comedy world, and they are supported by an extraordinary cast of established talent and rising stars.
“This is a show that really hits the sweet spot for Dave, we love it with a passion and we can't wait to make more.”
