Ricky Gervais starts filming for Netflix
A new Netflix comedy from Ricky Gervais has started filming this week.
After Life centres on Tony, whose perfect life is turned upside down when his wife dies suddenly. After considering suicide, he decides to stay around long enough to punish the world by saying and doing exactly as he likes.
Gervais has written the 6 x 30 and also directs and executive produces. His regular collaborator Charlie Hanson produces.
After Life is the latest in Gervais’ output for Netflix – the streaming giant bought certain territorial rights to his film David Brent: Life on the Road and screened his live show Humanity earlier this year.
Other productions currently filming for the streaming giant in the UK include Jerusalem, Sex Education, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, The King, Turn Up Charlie and the fifth series of Black Mirror.
