Maven secures TV content funding
Maven Screen Media (known as Maven Pictures) and founding producers Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler have secured funding from the UK Creative Content EIS Fund to support a move into TV and digital content.
The company – with offices in London and NYC - has been best-known to date for film, with an emphasis on increasing the representation of female content creators and female-centred stories. Latter, high-profile credits include American Honey (pictured) and The Kindergarten Teacher.
The Maven team will also include EVP Film, Jenny Halper and EVP Operations and Production, Nic Marshall.
Rattray and Styler commented: “This investment will help us drive our strategy of producing premium content across multiple platforms whilst keeping the unique narratives that address social issues and inspire change at the heart of what we do. We are very excited about the prospect of working more closely with established and emerging UK female writing and directing talent.”
This is the fourth investment by the UK Creative Content EIS Fund, following recent investments into Raindog Films – run by Ged Doherty and Colin Firth – and Maze Theory, a digital entertainment studio. The inaugural investment was into ex-C4 chief David Abraham’s Wonderhood Studios.
