Killing Eve Series 2 starts filming

Killing Eve

A second series of acclaimed TV drama Killing Eve starts filming today in London, with scenes also scheduled to be shot in Paris.

Produced by Sid Gentle Films for BBC America, the first series featured Sandra Oh as a bored MI5 officer who finds herself given the task of tracking Jodie Comer’s suave assassin Villanelle.

Though yet to be broadcast in the UK, the show has been a hit in the US, with Oh becoming the first actress of Asian descent to be nominated for an Emmy as a Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

British showrunner Phoebe Waller-Bridge, best known in the UK for her comedy-drama series Fleabag, is also nominated as a writer for her work on a specific episode in Killing Eve’s first-season run.

“Killing Eve is a startlingly original thriller,” said Sue Deeks, head of programme acquisition for the BBC, when the show was first announced for the corporation.

“In turn both laugh-out-loud funny and edge-of-your-seat gripping, Phoebe Waller-Bridge has filled her new series with an array of wonderful characters brought to life by a dream cast.”
