How to Build a Girl films next week
Principal photography begins next week on the big-screen adaptation of Caitlin Moran’s novel How to Build a Girl.
Beanie Feldstein (Lady Bird) stars as Johanna Morrigan, a clever, opinionated teenager who moves to London and reinvents herself as music critic Dolly Wilde. Alfie Allen co-stars.
Coky Giedroyc directs the film from Moran’s screenplay. The producers are Alison Owen and Debra Hayward for Monumental Pictures.
The production company developed the film with Film4, which is financing the film along with Tango Entertainment.
Owen said of the lead casting at the time it was announced: “We could not be more excited for Johanna Morrigan to burst onto the big screen.
“We searched high and low for a girl who could match the boundless wit, sparkle and big heart of Caitlin’s super-heroine and feel incredibly lucky to have found her in the effervescent Beanie Feldstein.”
