Filming wraps on The Good Liar
Filming wraps today on The Good Liar starring Helen Mirren and Ian McKellen.
The suspense thriller began a UK/Germany shoot in late April with Beauty and the Beast director Bill Condon at the helm.
Jeffrey Hatcher wrote the screenplay based on the novel by Nicholas Searle.
An ageing career conman (McKellen) plans to pull off his final scam – swindling a wealthy widow (Mirren) of her life savings. As she opens up her home and her life to him, he finds himself beginning to care about her and his life of lies and secrets unravels.
The Good Liar is from Bron Studios and New Line Cinema, and is produced by Condon and Greg Yolen.
Mirren’s next project is the lead role in Catherine the Great – a major new historical drama from New Pictures and Origin Pictures.
The shoot is due to take place largely in Lithuania later this year – more details including filming dates and key UK HoDs are listed for subscribers on Production Intelligence.
