Dark Money readies for prep
A new four-part drama for BBC One, Dark Money, is gearing up to film in Birmingham.
The four-part thriller comes from The Forge and centres on an ordinary London family that decides to accept a substantial payoff from a renowned filmmaker to keep silent about the abuse of their youngest son.
Levi David Addai (Damilola, Our Loved Boy) has written the series and said at the time of the commission announcement: “I am extremely delighted to be given a fantastic opportunity by the BBC to present a drama which was birthed from my curiosity of what happens to those who have secretly accepted a substantial pay-off from high-profile figures.
“Dark Money explores one family’s reason for accepting a financial settlement and whether this decision can ever help them move on, erase memories or replace justice.”
Addai executive produces alongside George Faber and Mark Pybus for The Forge and Lucy Richer for BBC One.
