Blueprint Pictures, the producers of A Very English Scandal (pictured), are in pre-production on a big-screen adaptation of Matt Haig”s book A Boy Called Christmas.

Haig”s novel for children was published in 2015 and has since gone on to be translated into around 25 languages. It centres on a young Finnish boy, Nikolas, and how he went on to become Father Christmas.

Blueprint Pictures was founded in 2005 by Pete Czernin and Graham Broadbent. The company enjoyed early critical success with Martin McDonagh”s In Bruges in 2008 and continued the partnership with the director”s Seven Psychopaths in 2012.

The same collaboration also saw huge critical success when the film Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri, scooped two Academy Awards and five BAFTAS in 2017.
