Lauren SequeiraA shiny new drama for BBC Three, Domino Day, begins filming in Manchester this week (w/c 20 March) from Dancing Ledge Productions

Also set in Manchester, the 6 x 45 series is created and written by Lauren Sequeira (pictured, right) and centres on a powerful young witch, Domino, who is haunted by her need to feed on the energy of others, swiping on dating apps not to find her soulmate, but to hunt…

But soon a coven of witches is tracking her every move, determined to stop her before her powers destroy everyone and everything around her. Siena Kelly stars as Domino with Babirye Bukilwa, Poppy Lee Friar, Alisha Bailey and Molly Harris as the Coven.

Domino Day is executive produced by Lucy Richer and Ayela Butt for the BBC, Laurence Bowen and Chris Carey for Dancing Ledge Productions and writer/creator Sequeira. Individual episides have also been written by Charlene James and Haleema Mirza.

At the time of the greenlight announcement, Sequeira said: "I’m over the (full) moon to be doing this project with the BBC and Dancing Ledge Productions, who have really championed my career from the start. I wanted to write a supernatural series that wasn’t only thrilling and twisty, but also tapped into the very real dating scene and how it affects modern relationships.

"I can’t wait for the audience to meet Domino Day, and couldn’t imagine a better team than DLP - after being their writer-in-resident, many moons ago, it feels right that they’ll now be producing my first original series.”
