Darkly comic thriller Passenger begins shooting near Manchester
As recently confirmed on Production Intelligence, filming has begun on Passenger, a new, darkly comic thriller from SISTER for ITV.
SISTER produces in association with Northern Sister; BritBox International is co-production partner.
Passenger marks actor Andrew Buchan’s screenwriting debut; he is also associate producer. Lucy Dyke and Simon Maloney exec produce for Northern Sister and Jane Featherstone for SISTER.
Sumrah Mohammed produces; Lee Haven Jones and Nicole Charles direct the 6 x 60 drama.
Filming is based in Cornholme, north of Manchester, with Wunmi Mosaku (pictured, above) playing former Met police detective Riya Ajunwa; David Threlfall co-stars alongside a large supporting cast that includes Daniel Ryan, Barry Sloane and Natalie Gavin.
After arriving in the village of Chadder Vale five years before, Riya has been searching for that ‘one big crime’, that one challenge that will make her feel alive again.
Then one night local girl, Katie Wells, is mysteriously abducted. Her car is found abandoned and there are traces of blood on the seats. But the village barely has time to register Katie’s disappearance before she reappears the next day, safe and sound…
