Anton launches TV production arm in London
Development and finance company Anton has launched a TV production arm in London to consolidate its producing credentials as an independent scripted studio.
As part of the new venture, the company has hired Fremantle alumni Sangeeta Desai and Sarah Doole whose remit will include looking at direct and first-look deals with established on- and off-screen talent.
Anton’s Sebastien Raybaud said: “I’m delighted that Sangeeta and Sarah are joining Anton to launch and run our new TV arm. Their expertise, experience and enthusiasm will be invaluable. This move marks an important milestone in the development of the company.”
Desai added: “Anton has quickly gained a reputation for shaking up the way feature films are financed and produced, and I’m excited to explore how we can take advantage of Anton’s agility and flexibility to offer some of Europe’s best creatives the chance to realise their ambitions.”
Desai will head up the new business unit while Doole will be creative director. Anton’s current VP, production and development, Jack Buckley, moves up to head of development as part of the new set-up.
Some of Anton’s recent high-profile production/finance credits include: Mothers’ Instinct, The End We Start From, the Paddington film franchise, His Dark Materials and Around the World in 80 Days.
