BBC orders tranche of factuals

BBC One logo The BBC has ordered a raft of factual commissions headed by a programme in which Ross Kemp celebrates the efforts of volunteers across the country. 

Ross Kemp: Britain’s Volunteer Army is produced by Curve Wales for BBC Daytime; the exec producers are Charlie Bunce and Sarah Swingler. 

The 5 x 45 sees Kemp exploring the work of the many volunteers who are currently supporting some of society’s most vulnerable people and those contributing to help the NHS. 

Another of the new commissions is Saving Our Nurses, which follows a new scheme designed to reverse the trend of burses wanting to leave the profession. 

The 5 x 45 is from Betty/OMG North and executive produced by Pam Cavannagh, Dympna Jackson and Alex Menzies. The series producer is Steve McConville.

Sophie Raworth voices Our Finest Hours, a combination of wartime archive and contemporary news footage that explores other times in history that have required the nation to pull together in a crisis. 

The 5 x 30 is made by Tomos TV for BBC One. The executive producer is Gerard Melling and the series producer is David Warren.
