ITV orders Trigger Point with Vicky McClure

Trigger Point, a new high-octane thriller starring Vicky McClure, has been greenlit by ITV from Jed Mercurio’s HTM Television.
The London-set drama explores counter-terrorism policing and the work of the Metropolitan Police Bomb Disposal Squad with McClure playing ex-military, frontline officer Lana Washington, an experienced bomb disposal operative.
McClure said: “So grateful to be working with Jed again. I’m really looking forward to creating a strong, bright and troubled character in Lana Washington.
"Daniel Brierley has produced a brilliant and nail-biting script. I can’t wait to get started later this year.”
Trigger Point marks the TV drama debut of writer Brierley; Mercurio has chosen to mentor Daniel Brierley and the show as a direct result of the ScreenSkills scheme to develop new writing talent.
The executive producers are Mercurio, Jimmy Mulville, Mark Redhead and Jessica Sharkey for HTM Television with Julia Stannard producing. HTM Television is co-owned by Mercurio and Hat Trick Productions.
