Travis Fimmel Zone 414, a sci-fi thriller starring Travis Fimmel, is due to shoot in Belfast from early next year.

The feature is set in the near future among a colony of a state-of-the-art, humanoid robots.

When its creator’s rebellious daughter goes missing, he hires a private investigator (Fimmel), to bring her home.

Zone 414 marks Andrew Baird’s feature directorial debut; he will call the shots from a screenplay by Bryan Edward Hill. Martin Brennan produces.

Belfast is an established production hub whose profile was raised considerably when the Paint Hall Studios, part of the Titanic Quarter, was used as the base for all eight series of Game of Thrones.

The city also offers Belfast Harbour Studios, which has been home to two series of the US drama Krypton and which is set to expand. Belfast recently hosted filming on comedy thriller Pixie with Alec Baldwin and Olivia Cooke.
