Fast & Furious 9 starts UK shoot
Filming gets underway this week in the UK on Fast & Furious 9.
Director Justin Lin – who was at the helm of three previous features in the high-octane film series – returns to call the shots from a screenplay by Daniel Casey and Chris Morgan.
Little is known about which of the regular cast members will return alongside Vin Diesel.
Spinoff feature Hobbs and Shaw, which centres on the two characters played by Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, began filming in the UK last year.
Fast & Furious is one of several big-budget inward investment projects underway in the UK, including Marvels’ The Eternals, currently in pre-production, and Skydance’s The Old Guard for Netflix which began principal photography in late May.
Inward investment films delivered £1.6bn for the UK during 2018, according to stats released by the BFI.
