Filming wraps on The Dark Crystal
Filming has wrapped on The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance following a hefty 10-month shoot in the UK.
The Netflix series is a prequel to the 1982 film and features a puppet cast.
Louis Leterrier is at the helm of the new show that returns to the fantasy world of Thra, working from scripts by Jeffrey Addiss, Javier Grillo-Marxuach and Will Matthews.
The Jim Henson Company is making The Dark Crystal, with the Jim Henson Creature Shop having worked on the puppets alongside Brian Froud, the original feature’s conceptual designer. Rita Peruggi produces.
Netflix’s presence in the UK is increasing – the streaming giant is currently involved in the production of a wide variety of UK-based dramas including the third series of The Crown, Tokyo and London-set crime thriller Giri/Haji and a third run of crime drama Top Boy.
