Dramas and comedies filming this week

Toby Jones A relationship drama set in the Lake District and a comedy starring Toby Jones are among the scripted projects that begin filming in the UK this week.

Deep Water is an emotional thriller from Kudos for ITV starring Anna Friel, Sinead Keenan and Rosalind Eleazar.

Set in the Lake District, it is adapted by Anna Symon from Paula Daly’s Windermere series of novels and will be delivered as 6 x 60 episodes.

Shooting will run for four months in Cumbria with Rebecca Hodgson producing and Harry Wootliff directing.
Cameras also start rolling this week on a new comedy, Don’t Forget the Driver, created and written by Toby Jones, who also stars.

Co-written by playwright Tim Crouch, the 6 x 30 for BBC Two comes from Sister Pictures and is produced by Holly Pullinger.

The series centres on Jones’ coach driver and single dad Peter Green, whose mundane life stretches him to the limit. Filming takes place in Bognor Regis and London.

Two returning shows also begin principal photography this week. The fifth series of the critically-acclaimed police drama Line of Duty gets up and running in Belfast while the daytime detective comedy drama Shakespeare & Hathaway starts shooting a second series in Stratford-upon-Avon.
