Billie Piper’s Rare Beasts films in September
Billie Piper’s debut feature as writer/director, Rare Beasts, is due to begin filming in early September.
Piper will also star in the 'anti-romcom' as Mandy, a career-driven single mother who falls in love with Pete, a traditional religious charmer.
Western Edge Pictures (Prevenge, Third Star) is making the feature with the company’s Vaughan Sivell producing. It is being made in association with production company 42.
The executive producers for Western Edge are Sivell, Franki Goodwin, Mike Rattenbury and Will Kane, with Josh Varney and Ben Pugh for 42.
Western Edge is also busy on Timestalker from writer/director Alice Lowe, her directorial follow-up to Prevenge. The film is described as an “hilarious, violent tale that encapsulates the female romantic predicament in multiple eras.”
