BBC’s Gold Digger filming soon
New BBC One drama Gold Digger is scheduled to enter production later this month with star Julia Ormond.
The story follows wealthy 60-year-old Julia as she falls in love with the much younger Benjamin and the impact that the relationship has on her family as they become concerned about Benjamin’s motives.
Produced by Mainstreet Pictures, the series marks Ormond’s debut in a UK TV drama and the story itself is created and written by Marnie Dickens.
“I’m delighted Julia Ormond will be starring in Gold Digger and at the centre of Marnie’s explosive new series for BBC One,” said Piers Wenger, controller of BBC Drama. “I can’t wait to see her take on this complex and fascinating character.”
Production Intelligence subscribers can log in now for full details of filming dates for Gold Digger and key crew including the directors and line producer.
Mainstreet is also responsible for ITV’s cold-case crime series Unforgotten and the BBC’s Manchester-based family saga Age Before Beauty.
