Spider-Man sequel films in UK in July
Spider-Man: Far From Home now has a confirmed start date for principal photography.
Filming begins later this month – Production Intelligence subscribers can log in for the date – on the Marvel feature that is the latest in a hefty line-up of inward investment projects currently prepping in the UK.
Jon Watts directs with Tom Holland expected to reprise his role as the web-slinging superhero.
The film is set after the events of Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel and according to the Hollywood Reporter, is set to co-star Jake Gyllenhaal as villain Mysterio – a regular nemesis of Spider-M in the Marvel Comics Universe.
The sequel joins several other big-budget projects setting up UK filming. Also readying to shoot are the Men in Black spin off starring Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson; the Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw with Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham and Star Wars: Episode IX.
