Sharon Horgan drama for UKTV
UKTV and Ireland’s RTE have commissioned Women on the Verge, a six-part drama from Merman and House Productions.
The drama is an adaptation of Lorna Martin’s best-selling book, Woman on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, which in turn was based on her Grazia column Conversations With My Therapist.
The Dublin-set series - currently filming in London and Dublin - stars Kerry Condon, Nina Sosanya and Eileen Walsh as three career-driven friends who lives are more complicated and out-of-control than they ever imagined they would be.
Annie Griffin directs with Gavin O’Grady producing. Executive producers are Clelia Mountford and Sharon Horgan for Merman, Juliette Howell and Tessa Ross for House Productions and Pete Thornton and Joe McVey for UKTV.
Howell said of the commission: "House are thrilled to be working with such a talented team on this sparklingly funny, truthful and original comedy for UKTV. With razor sharp scripts from Lorna Martin, and a top flight cast, helmed by the brilliant Annie Griffin, this is the one to watch."
