Line of Duty Series 4 shoots late summer
The fourth series of taut cop drama Line of Duty is due to begin filming in the late summer, ready for broadcast on BBC One in 2017.
The start date of principal photography is on our subscription site, Production Intelligence, along with the details of the line producer.
Jed Mercurio’s award-winning series was first broadcast on BBC Two in 2012, becoming the channel’s best-performing drama series in ten years. Season 3 ended with a series consolidated average audience of 5.1 million. It comes from World Productions and BBC Drama and films in Belfast.
The fourth run, and a fifth that has already been commissioned, marks a significant move to BBC One, with BBC Controller of TV Channels and iPlayer Charlotte Moore saying: “Line of Duty is original, bold, gripping drama that gets the nation talking and the time is right to bring the series to an even broader audience on BBC One. Jed Mecurio's explosive thriller will find a new home on BBC One for two more series and create room for new drama to flourish on BBC Two.”
We will return to Line of Duty 4 on PI as HoDs board and pre-production approaches, so subscribers should make sure they’re following the project on our site. Non-subscribers can click here to request a demo.
