Kingsman 2 eyes early May start
The follow-up to Matthew Vaughn’s 2014 spy comedy Kingsman: The Secret Service is deep in pre-production, and is currently eyeing an early May start to filming.
The first film was based on the comic book The Secret Service by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar, and centred on a troubled young boy, Eggsy (played by Taron Egerton), as he underwent secret agent training within a secret organisation. The film proved Vaughn’s biggest box office success to date, grossing over $414m worldwide.
As with the original, the second film has a screenplay by Vaughn and prolific screenwriter Jane Goldman, with Vaughn once again expected to be at the helm.
The feature is expected to utilise more international locations this time around but will also continue to utilise a couple of major south-east studios.
