The feature is based on the book A Giacometti Portrait by American art critic James Lord, and explores how the writer and his subject became friends a relationship which later became strained when Lord sat for the famous Swiss painter and sculptor in 1960s Paris.
Tucci has been in the director’s chair before – the last time being 2007’s Blind Date – but Final Portrait marks his major feature debut behind the camera.
The feature is one of 80 projects currently in pre-production on PI; non-subscribers can click here for a demo.
