London to be taken over in SS-GB
Major period drama SS-GB from shingle Sid Gentle is currently prepping for an autumn shoot.
The script for the upcoming series is based on the novel by Len Deighton and comes from Neil Purvis and Robert Wade, the writers behind James Bond films SPECTRE and Skyfall.
The story, presents an alternative take on history: set in the 1940s after Nazi Germany wins the Battle of Britain, with London now under Nazi occupation. Scotland Yard Detective Superintendent Douglas Archer must decide when investigating a murder whether to join the British resistance movement or collaborate with the SS.
The project is being developed by Sid Gentle's executive producers Sally Woodward-Gentle, Lee Morris and the BBC's Lucy Richer; Patrick Schweitzer will serve as producer.
