Glenn Close heads cast of She Who Brings Gifts
A stellar cast including Glenn Close, Gemma Arterton and Paddy Considine will be in the UK this May to film She Who Brings Gifts, the feature debut from Colm McCarthy.Â
The film is adapted by novelist M.R Carey from his own book The Girl with all the Gifts, and is set in a dystopian future where most of humanity has been infected by a fungus. The screenplay was on last year's Brit List, a canon of scripts by non-American writers set up to complement the US version, the Black List.Â
The film, which will shoot in the UK through May, marks the feature directorial debut of seasoned TV director Colm McCarthy, whose credits include Peaky Blinders, Sherlock and The Tudors.
She Who Brings Gifts is from producers Angus Lamont ('71) and Camille Gatin (Shadow Dancer). Gatin said of the project: Â "It's hugely exciting to combine Mike Carey's truly original script and Colm McCarthy's dynamic yet sensitive style, with such a terrific cast."
From 24 March, subscribers to Production Intelligence can follow this project for updates over the coming weeks.
