Production Guild train Assistant Co-ordinators

The Production Guild is once again offering its popular Assistant Co-ordinator course. The training is designed specifically for juniors or assistants in production to move up into the role of assistant co-ordinator.

Throughout the training, which lasts for two weeks, applicants will be guided and mentored by experienced colleagues with respectable feature film credits.

Course participants will gain a better understanding of the processes of production and office management practices. It will build on attendees' existing experience as production assistants or juniors and develop the specific skills and knowledge needed to take on the role of assistant co-ordinator on set.

Helen Swanwick-Thorpe, a former graduate of the course who now works as an assistant production co-ordinator with credits including Poirot, Miss Marple and Last Days on Mars, says: "The course offered a realistic grounding in film production that allowed me to access a wide range of mentors, industry contacts, knowledge and experience that, upon completing, the course meant I could move forward in my career…"

The next course dates are from 16 - 27 June 2014 and The Production Guild is now accepting applications. The cost of the course is £350 plus VAT and is subsidised by Creative Skillset.
