Pulse Films aims for further US growth

pulse filmsPulse Films has joined forces with VICE Media in a bid to expand its film and entertainment division in the States. The main focus of the venture will be on original and co-produced projects, with a particular focus on scripted feature film, unscripted television, and online video.

The No Distance Left to Run producer - which already has an office in Los Angeles as well as London and Paris - previously collaborated with VICE on the documentary Shut Up and Play the Hits, which centred on LCD Soundsystem's final performance at Madison Square Garden in 2011.

Thomas Benski, CEO of Pulse Films said: "Having worked together closely with our friends at VICE over a number of years, we found that we shared many creative, cultural, and commercial goals. We are very ambitious about what we can achieve in the US and how we see Pulse continuing to grow internationally, and this partnership will bolster the development of all of our creative projects."

VICE Media started out as a lifestyle printed magazine until branching into broadcast journalism. In August 2013, 20th Century Fox bought a 5% stake in the company, a deal reportedly worth $70m.
