New Southern Comfort ad 'Shampoo"

Southern Comfort has followed their successful Beach advert with Shampoo, part of its Whatever's Comfortable campaign. The new ad continues with the theme of being comfortable in your own skin, and features a man getting his hair washed along to a groovy soundtrack.

It comes from agency Wieden+Kennedy in New York and was directed by Tim Godsall of Biscuit Filmworks in LA, who also directed Beach.

The original advert made its debut last year, and still continues to play on TV today. It features a rotund man walking casually along a beach in his Speedos oozing confidence, then disappears off camera to get a glass of the alcoholic drink. You can watch the ad below:



Another ad was also launched, called Patio, also featuring the man just standing, simply looking around and clutching the drink in his hand. Both campaigns feature the track Hit or Miss by Odetta.

Commenting on the new campaign, Southern Comfort senior vice president Mark Bacon said: "We want to champion consumers to 'be their awesome selves' and that attitude comes out through this work. We're comfortable being Southern Comfort and we want our consumers to embody that same attitude about themselves."
