New board members for Film London’s TV focus

Film London has announced that three top names from Paramount Pictures, Film4.0 and ITV are the latest members to sit on its board of directors, led by chairman David Parfitt.

Ian George, managing director of Paramount Pictures UK, Anna Higgs, commissioning executive at Film4.0 and Angela Jain, director of digital channels and acquisitions at ITV bring a wide range of experience to Film London and its national division, the British Film Commission.

In the light of the recent expansion, which will see Film London??s remit to include attracting high-end television productions to the capital, the organisation welcomes the additional television expertise and says it is ??timely in ensuring this new sector can be successfully reached and serviced??.

In a statement the organisation said: ??As Film London looks to develop its production, training and exhibition activity, as well as exploit new areas in the digital landscape, the agency will hugely benefit from the combined experience and expertise held by new board members.??

The three board members will replace outgoing Tim Richards, CEO and founder of Vue entertainment, and director/screenwriter John Akomfrah.

Adrian Wootton, chief executive of Film London and the British Film Commission said: ??London is at the genesis of an incredible expansion for film and television, with the new UK creative sector tax reliefs now in place. Film London has an incredible and exciting set of tasks before it: facilitating international productions as well as nurturing domestic creativity and fostering a diverse film culture across the whole of the city. I greatly look forward to working with the new high-level executives on our board to take full advantage of all the new opportunities offered.??
