Charlotte Moore becomes controller of BBC One

Director of BBC television Danny Cohen has announced that Charlotte Moore is the new controller of BBC One with immediate effect.
Moore has already had a taster of the role as she has been acting controller of BBC One since May, having spent the early part of 2013 as acting controller of BBC daytime. Prior to that she was the BBC”s commissioning editor of documentaries, across all four channels, overseeing titles such as The Great British Bake Off, The Choir and Terry Pratchett”s Choosing to Die.
Cohen said: “Charlotte has proven herself as a highly talented creative leader, with fantastic credentials as a commissioner and a reputation as a thoughtful and collaborative colleague.”
Moore remarked: “Running BBC One is the most exciting and creative job in television and I”m honoured to be taking over as the new controller. Under Danny Cohen”s leadership the flagship channel has enjoyed great success and it”s a huge privilege to be part of its future. BBC One has a unique role to play in this country and I”m looking forward to working with many talented people.”
