ITV commissions Your Face Sounds Familiar

ITV has commissioned a new primetime entertainment series presented by Alesha Dixon and Paddy McGuinness. Your Face Sounds Familiar will feature celebrities taking on the guise of a famous musician in front of a panel of judges including Julian Clary and Emma Bunton.

Produced by Initial, the series is based on an Endemol format which has been sold to 20 countries including the US.

At the start of the year there were rumours about the show, and that it would be a re-vamped version of Stars in Their Eyes. Unlike the popular ITV singing contest – which ran until 2006 – the choice of which singer each celebrity will portray is decided at random.

Nick Samwell-Smith, creative director of Initial, said: “Your Face Sounds Familiar is the latest hit comedy entertainment format from Endemol, packed with fun, spectacle, and a great sense of humour. With well known celebrities delivering iconic classic and modern music performances each week, we”re very excited to be making it for ITV this summer.”

Your Face Sounds Familiar will be executive produced by Nic McNeilis and David Staite.
