Paul Abbott returns to C4 with new drama series

Channel 4 has given the go-ahead for an eight-part comedy drama from seasoned TV scribe Paul Abbott.

From Abbott’s own production shingle, AbbottVision, No Offence will follow a group of frontline coppers on the wrong side of Manchester. The team find themselves up against the full gamut of down at heel and low life criminals, but are determined not to be demoralised.

Paul Abbott said: “I’m a big fan of well-told cop shows and jet-black social comedy, and I wanted to see how explosively we could bang two genres’ heads together. It’s a tilted, hardcore blend of cop drama, family saga and social mayhem.”

When The Knowledge spoke to AbbottVision, we were told that pre-production is currently slated for September.
